This is the simplest knot.
A knot that everyone has made at one point or another.
It is used to keep a line from slipping through a hole that it has been pulled through.
REEF KNOT
Typical use: Joining two ends of a single line to bind around an object.
BOWLINE KNOT
Typical use: The bowline loop is the workhorse of knots—it never slips, comes loose, or jams under strain.
The Bowline is also called the King of Knots—a version of it exists in every sea-faring culture in the world.
